The DMBA Working For You
Make a sound investment in your legal career as a member of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association. With its 168-year tradition, the DMBA offers those resources and advantages to our members. We have adopted an ambitious plan for revitalizing existing programs, creating new initiatives and redefining the relationship of the Bar to its members and its community. Access to Information
Rely on the DMBA to deliver timely and relevant information about bar activities and key legal issues that impact your practice on a daily basis. Meet with peers and other members of the legal community to access information that will assure your future success. Meet judges at DMBA sponsored events who will help you understand the workings of the Wayne County court system.
Professional Development
The DMBA has a long standing reputation of providing timely, relevant Continuing Legal Education, focused on the needs of local legal practitioners. Developed for a wide range of disciplines and interests, these programs are packaged to be of utmost convenience to our members. We are developing a full program of monthly seminars to assist lawyers and judges in their professional development. In partnership with Lexis-Nexis, we will also offer innovative web-based curricula and electronic research capabilities. Our on-line Wayne County Practice Guide will be an invaluable resource in learning about the courts, judges and practice tips for the Wayne County lawyer.
 Professional Networking
Expand your network of contacts with attorneys, judges, court administrators, and other members of the legal community through involvement in association events, educational programs and participation in our specialized sections, and committees. Our calendar contains a full schedule of social and networking events, like our Annual Meeting, the Holiday Bench Bar Luncheon, the Barrister's Summer Breeze Reception and the Side Bar Luncheon to name just a few.
Economic Advantage 
The DMBA, through its strategic partnerships with providers of services to our profession, offers a wide range of member discount opportunities and commercial incentives. Our Lawyer Referral Program connects participating members with potential clients and qualifi ed attorneys can participate in our 36th District Court Case Evaluation Program.
